The Treehouse Hotel in London is just a 3-minute walk from the centre’s bustling Oxford Circus train station, so when the opportunity arose to be part of the renovation of the old 1960’s building into a modern, sustainable and innovative hotel, Calma Group knew they wanted to be part of it.

After winning the tender to become Principal Contractor on-site, the project commenced quickly to minimise disruption to the current employees, guests and the surrounding environment. Due to the central location, on-site space was at a premium and so the team at Calma had to get innovative to ensure that all renovation work was completed efficiently and within budget.

This project included major renovation works across 7 floors of the property, which was worked on from the top down – allowing continued access for employees and guests on the 9th floor minimising disruption and loss of revenue for the client.

The basement and ground floor were renovated and an indoor seating area was created alongside food and drinks areas. 96 guest rooms were renovated across 5 floors and the Mandela restaurant was fitted out with bespoke dining facilities and a conference and banqueting suite.

The crowning jewel of this project is undoubtedly the rooftop bar which boasts a 360-degree view of the capital city.

The Treehouse Hotel is the first of its kind in the UK and Calma Group are very proud to have worked on a project filled with so many sustainable initiatives without compromising on quality or style.
